The Fidget
Toy Project

A project I am incredibly passionate about, the fidget toy project was an experimental project and challenge to myself to create and design some basic Fidget Toys. With my plans to be an educator, being able to connect with my students of all kinds is incredibly important to me, and as someone who was a Fidgety kid through my schooling, having spaces where it was okay that I needed to be able to move around at times was incredibly important to me. That’s the idea and thought process that led me to explore my interest in fidget toys. Below are two designs, affectionately named Goober and Knob, where I focused on different types of fidgeting based on findings from surveys and conversations through a population of schoolmates and peers on how they fidget. In the future, I hope to create more designs alongside my students to make objects to help them focus their own differing types of fidgeting.
